The Health Minister on behalf of the government, Chairperson of the National Council, and Opposition Leader in the motion of thanks expressed their appreciation to His Majesty the King for gracing the closing session. They also expressed deep gratitude to His Majesty the King for leading, guiding, and protecting the country and the people during the times of global pandemic. Gratitude was also expressed for the grand celebration of the 114th National Day and for the Royal Address. They offered their commitment and re-dedicated themselves to serve the Tsa-Wa-Sum to fulfill the aspirations of His Majesty the King.
They also expressed their appreciation to Her Majesty the Gyaltsuen for the compassionate support being provided to the people during the fight against the pandemic. They also thanked the Zhung Dratsang led by His Holiness the Je Khenpo, armed forces, Dessungs, volunteers, health workers, Bhutan Red Cross Society, and everyone who has been unconditionally offering their services during the difficult times in every possible way.

The Speaker, in his concluding address, expressed his gratitude to His Majesty the King for initiating the De-suung and various skilling programs for the  De-suups. They have been actively involved in the fight against the pandemic and as well in providing essential services to the people. They are also involved in the development of important infrastructures such as water and road projects. The Speaker submitted that the program has not only helped De-suups build their capacity but has also enabled them to lead a meaningful life for themselves and be of service to the community. He also expressed gratitude to His Majesty the King for the successful celebration of the 114th National Day and the Royal Address. Reflecting on His Majesty’s Royal Address to the Nation on 114th National Day, the Speaker urged everyone to remain on their toes and persevere to keep pace with the fast-changing world and serve our country with renewed dedication and fortitude.

The Closing Ceremony concluded with the offering of Trashi Moenlam to His Majesty the Druk Gyalpo by the Members of the Parliament led by Zhung Dratshang.

Electrical Picnic

Our Department of first year electrical of Jigme Namgyel Engineering College   organized a picnic on April 22, 2018 . The rekhay  bus, fully packed with students headed for rekhay. we were extremely excited to reach the destination. All the students kept singing songs in the bus till they reached the venue.  As the student reach the place student were served with Tea and biscuits by class representative Thinley Norbu and few other students who reached the placed a day before. All the students were divided work among them so it took no longer than an hour or two for cooking all the items. All the cooking was done all together lead by the Thinley Wangchuk as head cook.  The cooking was all over and we gather to celebrate the moment and make it remarkable. Dalai Lama Congratulates Bhutanese Prime Minister-Elect

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama has sent a warm message of congratulations to Dasho Tshering Tobgay, the Prime Minister-Elect of Bhutan. In his letter, the Dalai Lama acknowledged the historic relationship between the Tibetan and Bhutanese people, and commended Bhutan's progress in democratic governance.
