Bhutan Encourages HPV Vaccination to Combat Cervical Cancer: Vaccines Proven Highly Effective
In a bid to combat cervical cancer, Bhutan is urging its citizens to get informed, screened, and vaccinated against the Human Papillomavirus (HPV). Recent findings have shown that the HPV vaccine is highly effective, preventing 9 out of 10 cases of the most high-risk strains of the virus, which is recognized as the number one cause of cervical cancer. The Bhutanese government, in collaboration with healthcare professionals and organizations, is actively promoting the importance of HPV vaccination as a preventive measure against this potentially life-threatening disease.
