Sensitization on Dengue fever

With hospitals packed with patients and an increasing tally of infections, Bhutan is grappling with its worst dengue fever outbreak on record this year (2019), according to official data. The disease is endemic  mosquito-borne disease that occurs in tropical and subtropical areas of the world, where heavy rains during the monsoon season have created the perfect breeding ground for the mosquito-borne Dr. Dechen Kezang of Dewathang Military hospital said "The first endemic dengue outbreak in Bhutan was reported in 2004 in Phuentsholing with more than 2,000 cases, then it had started declining with 850 cases in 2016, 240 cases in 2017 and only 20 cases in 2018." "This year's outbreak is unprecedented, with hospitals registering more than 2600 cases," he added. He also said that , symptoms during a dengue outbreak included high fever, severe headache, pain behind eyes, muscle and joint pain, and rashes. According to the World Health Organization (WHO),
