NHDCL's Unyielding Stance on Compensation Leaves Desperate Tenants Hopeless and Uncertain About Future Amidst Amplified Predicament

In a recent turn of events, the tenants of the National Housing Development Corporation Limited (NHDCL) in Phuentsholing face a challenging situation as heavy rainfall caused significant damage to their properties. The incident occurred in the early morning of July 13, when flash floods triggered by the intense monsoon rain affected five buildings and ten tenants.
The severity of the situation has left the victims eagerly awaiting any form of compensation. However, the NHDCL has stated that the affected tenants will not be eligible for compensation. This decision has been attributed to the fact that the tenants did not have insurance coverage for their damaged properties.

The heavy monsoon rain caused nearby streams to swell, leading to the flash floods that wreaked havoc on the NHDCL buildings. As a result, several properties suffered extensive damage, leaving tenants grappling with the loss.

Our Department of first year electrical of Jigme Namgyel Engineering College   organized a picnic on April 22, 2018 . The rekhay  bus, fully packed with students headed for rekhay. we were extremely excited to reach the destination. All the students kept singing songs in the bus till they reached the venue.  As the student reach the place student were served with Tea and biscuits by class representative Thinley Norbu and few other students who reached the placed a day before. All the students were divided work among them so it took no longer than an hour or two for cooking all the items. All the cooking was done all together lead by the Thinley Wangchuk as head cook.  The cooking was all over and we gather to celebrate the moment and make it remarkable.
