His Majesty The King Grants Royal Kasho to Appoint Interim Government for Elections

In line with the Constitution of the Kingdom of Bhutan, His Majesty The King has granted a Royal Kasho to appoint an Interim Government that will carry out the day-to-day functions of the Government during the upcoming election period. The Interim Government, headed by Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Chogyal Dago Rigdzin, has been mandated to serve for a period not exceeding 90 days, to ensure that free and fair elections can be held.
Joining Chief Justice Rigdzin on the Interim Government will be Dasho Penjore, Governor of the Royal Monetary Authority, Dasho Chewang Rinzin, Managing Director of Druk Green Power Corporation, Dasho Karma Yezer Raydi, Chairperson of Druk Holding and Investments, Major General Dorji Rinchen, Deputy Chief Operating Officer of the Royal Bhutan Army, Karma Hamu Dorjee, Chairperson of the Royal Civil Service Commission, Deki Pema, Chairperson of the Anti-Corruption Commission, Tashi, Auditor General of the Royal Audit Authority, and Phuntsho Rapten, Eminent Member of the National Council.
The Interim Government received an audience with His Majesty The King in the Throne Room of Tashichhodzong, marking the formal start of their mandate. The Interim Government is expected to discharge its duties with the utmost diligence, neutrality, and sensitivity.
