The Buddhist Warrior: Bhutan's Fourth King Leads Successful Operation All Clear Against Indian Militants

Exactly 20 years ago, on December 15-16, 2003, Bhutan's Fourth King, His Majesty King Jigme Singye Wangchuck, led a courageous and historic military operation. In a display of strategic and tactical brilliance, the Bhutanese armed forces, under the leadership of our revered King, successfully flushed out three groups of Indian militants from our peaceful nation.
This remarkable feat, now known as "The Two-Day War" or "Operation All Clear," showcased the valiant efforts of Bhutan's armed forces, as they employed a combination of guerilla warfare and conventional tactics. Surpassing established military doctrines, this operation demonstrated the strength of Bhutan's military prowess while remaining faithful to the principles of non-aggression and restraint rooted in Buddhism.

Prior to the operation, His Majesty King Jigme Singye Wangchuck visited the sacred Punakha Dzong, a 17th-century fortress that holds great significance in Bhutan. The king's presence at this revered site only reinforced the importance of protecting our nation's heritage and safeguarding the peace and tranquility that Bhutan is known for.

The success of "The Two-Day War" not only highlighted the military capabilities of Bhutan's armed forces but also solidified the reputation of our Fourth King as "The Buddhist Warrior."

Electrical Picnic

Our Department of first year electrical of Jigme Namgyel Engineering College   organized a picnic on April 22, 2018 . The rekhay  bus, fully packed with students headed for rekhay. we were extremely excited to reach the destination. All the students kept singing songs in the bus till they reached the venue.  As the student reach the place student were served with Tea and biscuits by class representative Thinley Norbu and few other students who reached the placed a day before. All the students were divided work among them so it took no longer than an hour or two for cooking all the items. All the cooking was done all together lead by the Thinley Wangchuk as head cook.  The cooking was all over and we gather to celebrate the moment and make it remarkable. Dalai Lama Congratulates Bhutanese Prime Minister-Elect

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama has sent a warm message of congratulations to Dasho Tshering Tobgay, the Prime Minister-Elect of Bhutan. In his letter, the Dalai Lama acknowledged the historic relationship between the Tibetan and Bhutanese people, and commended Bhutan's progress in democratic governance.
